The New 7 Day 6 Night Kootenai Valley Photography Workshop
This amazing week long photography workshop is appropriate for all levels of photographers. Held at the Cole/Marr Workshop's Northern Idaho lodge, guests will experience and photograph the beautiful Selkirk mountains, the Kootenai Valley and it's four national wildlife refuges.
Each day will start with an early morning shoot to capture morning lit landscapes while being ready to photograph eagle, moose, deer, elk, songbirds, otters, and bears. Then retreat back to the lodge for lunch and a session to evaluate the morning shoot. After lunch will be a short lecture on one of many photographic subjects. Then it's time to ready for the evening shoot. It might be a walk to Snow Creek Falls, Myrtle Creek Falls or into the Selkirks or one of the four National Wildlife Refuges. When the light diminishes we will return to the lodge to a hardy dinner in front of a fire to go over the day's photography. Weather permitting, those students interested in astrophotography will be tutored in capturing the night skies.
The workshop will demo film processing, photoshot post processing, film scanning, the art of inkjet printing, digital and film photography techniques. Guests will be immersed in photography from sunup to sunset. This workshop is a great opportunity to learn photography while experiencing one of the most beautiful areas in Northwest America. Guests will be picked up at the Spokane, Washington airport at 8:00 am on the start date and be driven to 10 miles north of Bonners Ferry Idaho to the Inn at Whitetail Hollow. There, your meals, lodging and all transportation around the area will be provided.
Your personal instructor is David Marr, a naturalist and fine art photographer, who is the cofounder of the Cole/Marr Photography Workshops established in 1975. Mr. Marr is one of the last remaining Ansel Adams students teaching today with the knowledge of fine art film photography and who is also well versed with the new digital camera and post processing techniques of today.
Guests also have the option to drive to the location in Bonners Ferry themselves, or fly into Spokane GEG and rent a vehicle from there.
Guests arrive Friday afternoon, and depart Thursday by 11 a.m.
